I live with most of my family here. My mum and my dad and my brother and cat. Ilike hanging out with my friends and being able to walk around knowing I’m safe. My life before coming to New Zealand I used to live in South Africa. This country was very closed off with high fences and security gates. It was very dangerous, but I was privileged enough to have a safe community with my family. I decided to paint this piece of art because I miss my fireplace back in South Africa and I have many memories linked to my fireplace. The artwork on the walls gives a hint to my memories.
